jazz music

Did you know that jazz originated in New Orleans?

It’s a combination of blues, ragtime, and marching band music. The musicians play everything from the guitar to the saxophone, and the genre is popular around the world.

If you would like to enjoy a night of jazz, visit one of these destinations near our Jessup apartments where you’ll also find menus full of hearty entrees and refreshing cocktails:

Keystone Korner

Keystone Korner, located a 26-minute drive away, opened in the spring, making it the newest addition on Baltimore’s jazz scene. It honors the city’s storied jazz history and is a collaboration between a two-star Michelin chef and an NEA Jazz Master. The club welcomes the best musicians in the Mid-Atlantic region and often boasts a full house. Dinner offerings include vegan tacos, baby back pork ribs, and jumbo lump crab cakes.

Bertha’s Restaurant & Bar

Established over 40 years ago, Bertha’s was the first sit down restaurant in Fells Point. The restaurant is famous for its “Eat Bertha’s Mussels” motto, and it also serves the best crab cakes in town. Bertha’s is recognized by USA Today and the Baltimore Sun and is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The foot-stomping entertainment starts at 9:00 p.m. The musicians play jazz, blues, and other genres, and often perform to a full house. In addition to the mussels and crab cakes, the menu also includes fish tacos, shrimp salad, and black bean burgers. Bertha’s Restaurant & Bar is a 28-minute drive away.
