3 Ax-Throwing Venues around Jessup

Did you know the sport of ax throwing is sweeping the nation? While it dates back to about 400 A.D., the sport didn’t become an urban game in many countries until 20 years ago.

If you would like to give it a try, the best ax-throwing venues around our Jessup apartments include:

Autobahn

Unleash your inner warrior at Autobahn. Just 10 minutes from our community, it offers everything you need for an evening of ax throwing. Skilled coaches organize fun games and may even teach a trick shot or two. While walk-ins are welcome, it’s best to make a reservation.

Autobahn is also the home of the World Ax Throwing League. Running 8 weeks, players are ranked by their skills at hitting kill shots and the bullseye. In the final week, the top scorers compete to become the regional WATL champion.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House

When four friends got together for a backyard barbecue, the chopping of wood turned into an impromptu game of ax throwing. They decided to take the fun indoors and opened Stumpy’s Hatchet House. Just 18 minutes from our apartments, it’s where friends gather to create memories while trying something new. First-time throwers receive 10 to 15 minutes of training before enjoying an array of hatchet games. Stumpy’s also sells light snacks, and visitors can bring their own beer.

Urban Axes

At Urban Axes, you’ll enjoy two and a half hours of throwing fun. Players begin with one-on-one instruction before competing in a round-robin tournament. The coaches keep score and ensure the smooth flow of the game. Walk-in sessions are offered during the week, and Urban Axes also features a fully stocked bar with beer, wine, and soft drinks. You’ll find this lively venue about 22 minutes away.

In addition to these ax-throwing destinations, our apartments in Jessup, MD, are also near premier restaurants and fun attractions. If you’re searching for a place to call home, please contact our leasing staff. They’d love to show you firsthand all we have to offer.
